We had an enjoyable evening with Patrick McGrath a few weeks ago when he came to the store to sign his latest mystery, Trauma. Mr. McGrath charmed us all. He shared some of his favorite writers with us, including: F. Scott Fitzgerald, Philip Roth, Joseph Conrad, Patrick White, Anne Ehnreit, and Philip Johnson.
I also loved the way he described the mystery of writing, "You go down a lot of blind alleys when you're writing a novel."
