Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

Eat Pray Love is the current book for Atlantis (Lemuria’s Book Club), and I felt that though it is not a new one, this remarkable little book deserved a review. After her marriage finally collapses in on itself, Gilbert finds herself desperately seeking spiritual guidance and more importantly, happiness. She decides after a series of coincidences (or divine intervention? she wonders) to spend a year abroad, in search of love, happiness, spiritual guidance, and well, everything (hence the subtitle). Often laugh out loud funny, Eat Pray Love is a great book to fall into; Gilbert is a natural storyteller whose frequently hilarious and moving anecdotes keep this from being just another travel book. - Ciel Dafford
